DTE-PDX

I had the awesome opportunity to stay with my super rad sister and brother in-law in Portland, Oregon this August. If I could describe the trip in three words they would be food, adventures and food.

For anyone looking to travel to Portland in the near future Blue Star is a absolute must! Voodoo donuts is the most popular spot in Portland for donuts, but I would have to highly disagree with the notion that they are the best. The Blue Star PB&J donut reigns supreme today as the best donut I have ever eaten.

Two hours out of downtown Portland is the most beautiful coast I have ever been to in the United States. It was pouring rain, but that didn't stop us from climbing all the dunes, ruining any clothing we had on, and earning ourselves a good cold for the rest of the week. All in the name of adventure.

My brother in-law is a crazy venturer like myself and took me on the most granola and insane hike at eagle creek.

What these pictures really don't accurately portray is that this log we took turns walking across was about 80 feet about the rocky waterfalls and streams below. It was still partially rooted, but fallen and hanging over the cliff for about 25-30 feet. One of the biggest adrenaline rushes of my life. An insanely stupid idea that I would do again in a heartbeat.

The water was below 50 degrees so by the time we got out our bodies were actually burning they were so cold, but how can you hike through the waterfalls and not go for a quick swim?

Bear the wonderpup begging the crazy humans to get out of the frigid water.

Beers, bikes, and booths (picture booths)
When I think of Portland I think of bikes. They even have bike lights and multiple double wide bike lanes frequently on their roads. Here is an awesome half bike half bar we spent some free time in.

Ze most important meal of the day

 Hawthorne Hawthorne Hawthorne street!

chocolate cheese truffels :o

Flower crowns, pizza to go, a good hard cider, and a radical view of the bay.

Breakfast at the Heathman! Berry crepes, scones, and the greatest omelette in the world. Crab and chedder.

Famers market!

Cheese trucks, blue grass music, and candles

streetcar foolin'

Latourell falls

Had to pay a visit to the local free people. Biggest one I've been in.

More Donuts!

And that concludes some of the highlights of this trip! Portland, Oregon was too good to me and I cannot wait to visit again. For those of you who haven't been, it's an absolute must on the venturing list.
